Learn how to install an SSL certificate in the Webuzo panel, step by step. Follow our instructions for a quick and efficient installation.
Introduction
In this tutorial, we will explain the necessary steps for installing an SSL certificate in the Webuzo panel.
Requirements
In order to install the SSL certificate in the panel, we will need:
- Certificate files with the three specific elements:
- certificate, private-key, ca-bundle, which are usually found in three files with or without extensions, with their specific names, sometimes they are compressed into a single archive (.zip), obtained online from the issuing institution or the company from which you purchased that SSL.
- A simple text editor (e.g., Notepad) to open each of the three SSL component files, from which all the text will be copied line by line (select all + copy) -> later to be pasted in the fields mentioned in the steps section below.
- Optional - a decompression program (usually included in the operating system) - necessary in case the files are sent to you in an archive.
Steps
- After logging into the Webuzo panel, go to the SSL section where we will click on Install Certificate.
- Once there, we will fill in the fields with the required values:
Select Domain - We choose from the list the domain on which we want to install the certificate.
Paste your key here - The private key is placed here.
Paste your certificate here - The certificate is placed here.
Paste your CA Bundle (Optional) - Although the text says it is optional, we will always include the CA Bundle, as it is necessary for the proper functioning of the SSL when we access the website.
Use This Certificate for webuzo panel [ ] - If this option is enabled, this certificate will also be used to secure the login connection to the Webuzo panel using the login links with https ports.
- We will check this option only when we install the certificate for the main domain of the VPS. Otherwise, if we install the certificate for a different domain (subdomain of the VPS), we will not check that option.
- Click on Install. The certificate has been successfully installed.
- After this step, it is possible to check if the site for which we installed the SSL is working with this certificate by directly accessing in the browser the link in the form of https://
