Adding an email autoresponder in Plesk

Introduction

This article explains the steps to follow in order to set up an auto-reply message on an email inbox. This can be useful if you are on vacation or unavailable, or if you have a generic message you wish to send upon receiving an email.

Requirements

  • a Plesk account
  • an email address on that Plesk account

Steps

  • After logging into the panel, we will go to the Mail section and click on the email address to which we want to add an auto-responder.

  • In this window, we will fill in the fields as follows

  • 1. Auto-reply message subject - we will set the email subject
  • 2. Message format - we will choose if the email will be text only or if we want it to be more complex
  • 3. Encoding - default is utf-8
  • 4. Auto-reply message text - email content
  • 5. Forward to - here we can choose if we want the received message to be forwarded to a colleague's address, for example, when this autoresponder is sent
  • 6. Send an automatic response to a unique email address no more than (times a day) - here we set sending an automatic response to a unique email address a maximum of x times per day
  • 7. Switch off auto-reply on - here we set the date on which we want the autoresponder sending to end
  • Finally, we will press OK and the autoresponder will be set until the day we decided it should be active.
