Adding a Subdomain for Website in the ISPConfig control panel.
This article will present the necessary steps for adding a Subdomain for Website, which will load the content of a Website type domain in the ISPConfig control panel.
Introduction
- The ISPConfig control panel offers the possibility to add an unlimited number of Subdomain for Website type domains. This type of domain will load the same content as the main domain to which it is associated.
- For example, it can be used for the subdomain development.hostico.test to load content from hostico.net.
Requirements
- The ISPConfig panel administration data received on the email associated with the Hostico account when the VPS was activated.
Steps to follow
- First, we will connect to the ISPConfig control panel using one of the access addresses: https://SERVERNAME:10200 or https://IP_SERVER:10200 or https://DOMAIN.XX:10200
In the window that will be displayed, we will select Sites from the navigation bar.
On the left side, we will select Subdomain for website
Click the Add new Subdomain button
On the page that will load, we will fill in the fields as follows:
-Host: The prefix of the subdomain. For example, in the case of the subdomain development.hostico.net, we will enter only "development" in this field;
-Domain: We will select the main domain name to which the subdomain will be associated;
-Redirect type: The type of redirection, in case we want the alias domain to redirect to the main domain;
-Redirect path: If we use the redirect option from the field above, here we can specify a link or directory to which the redirection should be made;
-Don`t add to let`s Encrypt Certificate: If you do not want to add a free SSL, it is recommended to check this box;
-Active: Leave checked if you want the domain to be configured and active/accessible;
To complete the setup, we will click on the Save button at the bottom of the page.
