Introduction

  • The Plesk panel allows the activation of the mail filtering service, Spam Filter, on the email inbox to detect spam messages that come to that address.
With this service, we can delete spam messages, mark them as spam, or move them to a separate directory for SPAM.

Requirements

  • A Plesk account
  • An email address on that account

Steps

  • After logging in to the panel, we will go to the Mail section and click on the email address to which we want to add a redirect.

  • In the next window, we will choose Spam Filter, where we need to check Switch on spam filtering for this email address in order to configure the service by choosing one of the following three options.

  • We can set the application to mark messages as SPAM by adding specific text in the subject of the message.
  • We will be able to set the application to delete all messages that it identifies as SPAM.
  • If we want, the application will move all messages to a separate folder named Spam.
  • Furthermore, we can access the advanced settings of the service with the Show Advanced Settings button and make the following modifications:
  • The antispam filter performs several different tests on the content and subject of each message. As a result, each message is scored with a certain point value. The higher this score, the more likely the message is to be spam. By default, the filter's sensitivity is set so that all messages with 7 points or more are considered spam. If you receive a lot of spam messages with the current setting, you can increase the filter's sensitivity: try setting a lower value, for example, 6. If you notice that you are not receiving legitimate emails because the antispam filter includes them as junk messages, try decreasing the filter's sensitivity: set a higher value, for example, 8

  • White List - Email addresses from users listed in the white list are not checked by the antispam filter.
  • Black List - Email addresses from users listed in the blacklist are considered spam.
  • We will save the settings by clicking OK
