I. Data Center Description
The equipment in the Data Center is state-of-the-art and ensures the security and reliability of customers' data and applications. Physical security measures (access via magnetic card, permanently guarded building, independent and redundant power supply, fire protection, flood protection, etc.) and continuous monitoring of environmental conditions are designed to eliminate any risks to which the equipment may be subjected.
GTS Data Centers are connected to their own national fiber optic ring and through it to the GTS Central Europe network and the main European nodes, Frankfurt, Vienna, and London.
II. Location
Rahova Road 266-268, in Electromagnetica Business Park, Bucharest - ROMANIA
III. Physical Security
Physical security is necessary in order to prevent unauthorized access to the DataCenter
IV. Control of Environmental Conditions
The temperature and humidity of the air in the operating rooms of the DataCenter are controlled and maintained within normal limits to ensure operating conditions for the installed equipment.
- Ambient temperature: between 10 and 30 degrees Celsius
- Relative humidity: between 30% and 80%.
The Data Center is equipped with a lightning rod.
The 3 high-capacity air conditioning units (HVAC) ensure the optimal temperature for the best operating conditions of the colocated equipment. Their interface offers control for temperature and humidity. These devices are constantly monitored by the system engineers.
Equipment cooling is achieved from top to bottom, through the grilles installed in the raised floor.
V. Seismic system
All racks and equipment are anchored against seismic activity in the concrete floor.
VI. Fire protection system
The DataCenter is equipped with a modern fire detection and suppression system. The sensor network based on dual optical and thermal detection ensures precise and prompt alarm. The sensors are centrally monitored 24/7/365. The suppression system is based on Inergen gas, a neutral combination of argon, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen. The gas mixture does not affect the installed equipment.
VII. Power Supply
The DataCenter is equipped with two REILO UPS units. The uninterruptible power supply (UPS) ensures continuity in cases where the energy supplied by the local network does not meet specifications. The UPS units have an autonomy of 80 minutes under maximum load of the DataCenter. The Diesel generator will operate normally 15 minutes after startup.
The generator is located outside the building on a specially arranged platform.
Generator features:
- Turbo-Diesel engine
- 648 CP
- power 500 KVA
Power cables are positioned under the floor in special, grounded trays, separated from the trays for transmission media.
Power Distribution Units (PDUs) have electric power consumption monitoring and are produced by American Power Conversion. The equipment, monitored through Web, Telnet, SNMP, SSH interface, has 20 IEC-320-C13 power distribution ports and 4 IEC-320-C19 ports. The LCD display shows the load level of the PDU.
VIII. Main characteristics
- Strict physical access security in the DataCenter based on access cards and closed-circuit television system;
- Redundant environmental control systems (temperature, humidity, fire suppression);
- Dual redundant power supply system with UPS backup and its own generator.
IX. Security and control measures refer to:
- Access to the premises only with a magnetic card
- Video surveillance within the Data Center
- Access to the Console Rooms, the room from which the Client can connect and manage their equipment in complete confidentiality
- Monitoring, security, and maintenance 24/7/365
- 2 high-capacity UPS units for redundancy
- 2 air conditioning units for efficiency and redundancy. Equipment cooling is also done through the grilles mounted in the raised floor.
- Advanced gas fire protection system with Inergen
- Temperature and fire sensors, monitored continuously
- Seismic kit for securing racks
- Powering racks from two different power sources
Access to the GTS Data Center is available 24/7/365. Additionally, the technical support provided is 24 hours a day. The engineers in the Data Center are prepared to provide immediate support, check the client's equipment, restart servers, change backup tape drives, and ensure the provision of Remote Management services.
X. Connections
